Post-doctoral position in algorithms for cancer epigenomics

Our computational biology group is looking for a post-doctoral researcher to develop methodology for the analysis of cancer epigenetic data (1 year project). The group has already developed several widely used methods for genomics, transcriptomics and epigenomics data analysis (http://boevalab.com/tools.html).

Our group is a part of the big department of development, reproduction and cancer in the Cochin institute. The Cochin hospital and our research center are located in a nice central district of Paris close to Port Royal and in a walking proximity from the Luxembourg garden.

This offer provides an opportunity to work on a challenging algorithmic problem with a direct application to cancer research. The goal of the project is to formulate a strategy for the deconvolution of ChIP-seq signal coming from a mixture of normal and cancer cells. ChIP-seq (chromatin immunoprecipitation and sequencing) is the most commonly used technique to characterize DNA binding profiles of DNA-associated proteins: transcription factors, histone modifications and histone variants and polymerase binding.

The candidate should have computer science, mathematics, physics or bioinformatics background and have strong programming skills (C++ and (Python or R)). A doctoral degree, excellent knowledge of statistics, understanding of data analysis techniques and proficiency in English are required. Experience in bioinformatics analysis would be a plus.
